In this 30 minute parent/guardian-accompanied class, we aim to awaken baby's natural curiosity and response to music, to develop aural perception, a musical sense, steady beat, and to encourage pleasure in listening to and making music together at home.
A typical session includes songs for movement - to allow baby to feel the flow, beat, meter, phrase, and nuance for music, songs for touching eyes and ears, hands, and feet - to help baby learn about the body and build body awareness; songs for wiggling and tickling - to help baby enjoy the delight of music; and naming songs, where each baby's name is incorporated into a song.
Based on music and movement approaches by Carl Orff and Emile Jaques-Dalcroze, the class comprises of interactive songs - bouncing, rocking, and dancing songs - to express the joy of music, that's fun for both you and your baby!
Watch your baby smile with glee as he/she tries out various percussion instruments such as shakers, bells and drums.
Based on music and movement approaches by Carl Orff and Émile Jaques-Dalcroze, our classes comprise of interactive songs, games, movement activities and stories, exposing your child to musical concepts such as pitch, rhythm, dynamics, tempo and timbre at a young age, promoting creativity and encouraging an appreciation and love for music, especially at an age when your child is becoming more curious about the world.
Our curriculum aims to promote your child's socio-emotional, cognitive and physical development, as well as literacy and language skills, using music and movement as a medium. Our students will develop body awareness, fine and gross motor skills, improve hand eye-coordination, explore pitched and non-pitched musical instruments, learn musical concepts and develop aural skills, while having lots of fun.
Our Musical Kids program lives up to it's name, developing well-rounded musical kids.
Through songs, dance, actions, movement, games and activities, your child will explore the components of music, such as pitch, rhythm, tempo, dynamics and timbre, through songs from different genres, eg. classical, pop, jazz and folk music, as well as our own Creative Hearts original songs.
Our students will also be introduced to instruments of the orchestra, learn fundamentals of the piano, and begin to recognise basic notes and staff notation through games and hands-on activities. They will also play familiar tunes on their resonator bars, Boomwhackers and handbells.
We also build teamwork by incorporating ensemble playing and encourage improvisation where your child will make up his/her own rhythmic patterns or come up with new lyrics to existing tunes!
Most importantly, your child will develop a love for music, learn through play, have heaps of fun, gain confidence and express himself/herself through music.
