Babies are naturally curious and responsive to music. This course aims to awaken your baby’s aural perception and musical sense and ability to express joy through music.
A typical session comprises interactive songs to develop your baby’s ability to move with music and an awareness of the body. These include movements such as rocking and bouncing and dancing. They will also be exposed to percussion instruments to develop their senses and to build a steady beat.
The course was developed with musical fundamentals from established music pedagogies (Orff and Dalcroze). Each class is 30-minutes long and babies must be accompanied by an adult.
Based on music and movement approaches by Carl Orff and Émile Jaques-Dalcroze, our classes comprise of interactive songs, games, movement activities and stories, exposing your child to musical concepts such as pitch, rhythm, dynamics, tempo and timbre at a young age, promoting creativity and encouraging an appreciation and love for music, especially at an age when your child is becoming more curious about the world.
Our curriculum aims to promote your child's socio-emotional, cognitive and physical development, as well as literacy and language skills, using music and movement as a medium.
Our students will develop body awareness, fine and gross motor skills, improve hand eye-coordination, explore pitched and non-pitched musical instruments, learn musical concepts and develop aural skills, while having lots of fun.
Our Musical Kids program lives up to it's name, developing well-rounded musical kids.
Through songs, dance, actions, movement, games and activities, your child will explore the components of music, such as pitch, rhythm, tempo, dynamics and timbre, through songs from different genres, eg. classical, pop, jazz and folk music.
Our students will also be introduced to the instruments of the orchestra. They will also play familiar tunes on their resonator bars, Boomwhackers and handbells.
We also build teamwork by incorporating ensemble playing and encourage improvisation where your child will make up his/her own rhythmic patterns or come up with new lyrics to existing tunes!
Most importantly, your child will develop a love for music, learn through play, have heaps of fun, gain confidence and express himself/herself through music.
